In The Eyes of a Child

In the eyes of a child…there is joy, there is laughter. There is hope, there is peace, a chance to change the future. For the lessons of life, there is no better teacher…then to look in the eyes of a child. 💕
My sweet six year old cousins remind me of Matthew 18:1-5: “He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
I love to watch them frolic, dance, and sing with pure joy and scream with laughter. I love it when they let their imaginations soar with storytime.
When we're together, the three of us take turns exploring and running, hugging and even kissing some little bumps & bruises. We look up at the clouds, marvel at the beauty of nature, sing at the top of our lungs, and dance until we can't stand it anymore. Oh how I laugh with delight looking back on those precious memories!

Back in November of last year, I was fortunate enough to spend 2 weeks with my favorite little men. I watched them take a few little tumbles and trips, and then run into my arms, trusting that they were safe and I would make it all better.
These tender moments remind me of how much our Heavenly Father opens His arms and waits for us to run to Him for everything. He wants us to come to Him with our dreams, hopes, desires, fears, and worries. He patiently waits with His loving embrace for us to lean into Him and tell Him everything in our heart & soul.
Our Heavenly Father knows exactly what we need, when we need it. But, He longs for that open relationship with us - His children. He wants us to to have the childlike faith to trust that no matter what happens in our lives, He is right there to catch us. He rejoices when we rejoice, He comforts us when we’re hurt. He is our advocate, our protector, our Redeemer. We are all called to be like little children and rest in the arms of Jesus. Isn’t it amazing how children can teach you things you’ve never truly realized before? 💕
Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong; they are weak, but he is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so. Jesus loves me, this I know, as he loved so long ago, taking children on his knee, saying, "Let them come to me."
Prayer: Thank You, Lord for these precious, beautiful children in my life. May they always know how much they're loved - not just by me, but by You. I pray that we can all humble ourselves and be like these little children. Amen 🙏🏻
